Join the Commonwealth Safety Management Forum

There are three categories of membership within the CSMF:

    • Full membership
    • Additional Membership
    • Associate Membership

Full Membership is open to all Commonwealth and Australian Capital Territory government agencies that come within the jurisdiction of the WH&S Act 2011 and the SRC Act 1988, and any other agency/s that the Executive sees fit to nominate and are endorsed by the membership at a general meeting. This membership is at the corporate or agency level, and generally represented by staff with National responsibilities.

Additional Membership exists to enable other staff members from a Full Membership Agency or an Associate organisation (ie Professional Body, Industry Association or Private Sector Organisation – but not individual Associate members) to participate in the CSMF activities and events, such as the regular meetings, conferences etc. and the costs of this classification of membership is at a reduced rate.

Associate Membership is for those individuals, professional bodies, industry associations and organisations that are not eligible for either Full Membership or Additional Membership.

    MEMBERSHIP BENEFITS

The CSMF is a not-for-profit industry group for Commonwealth and Australian Capital Territory government organisations, and interested organisations and individuals, which exists primarily to facilitate strategic advice to member agencies on Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S), return to work, premium management, and associated training and education. It is an important support mechanism for practitioners, and some of the benefits of membership include:

    • Established forum for the exchange of ideas and experience with a forum membership of approximately 100 diverse organisations across Australia
    • Regular general meetings held four times a year providing an opportunity to meet with other practitioners and discuss issues of common concern and exchange information, and listen to guest speakers dealing with topical WHS issues
    • Representatives from Comcare provide support and updates to meetings on latest developments in prevention and rehabilitation
    • Mentoring opportunities and opportunities to be mentored
    • An Annual Conference which is, by far, the best value for money conference available anywhere with dynamic speakers of high calibre.

The fees associated with membership are due and payable by 1 July each year, with adjustments being made as we transition to a single renewal date. Renewal advices are sent out approximately one month prior to expiry.
