Renew your CSMF Membership before the 30 June 2016 to make 50% savings on future renewals.
The General Meeting of 4 May 2016 approved an Executive Committee proposal to increase Membership Fees for the first time in 14 years. This increase has become necessary as our overall expenses to run the Forum have increased especially with regard to governance costs such as audit, taxation, and insurance. Other costs have also increased including web services and software for the Membership Database. The new Membership fees will come into effect on 1 July 2016.
As you would be aware, membership renewals can be made for one, two or three years, and you may wish to renew your current membership early in order to get in ahead of the price rise on 1 July, and/or for greater than one year in order to avail yourself of the discounts for multiple year memberships.
A list of both the current and new fees payable from 1 July 2016 is available on the Membership Page together with a membership renewal form. Remember, to make the substantial savings, you must have your application processed before 30 June.
Please forward renewals to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals update
Comcare has recently released an information sheet providing advice to Commonwealth duty holders on implementing the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS).
This information sheet is the forerunner to other resources in development by Comcare, and other Regulators, to assist persons conducting a business or undertaking (PCBUs) to fully transition to the GHS by the implementation date of 1 January 2017. Additional resources are expected to be release in the near future. The Comcare GHS portal is located here.
Changes to the Executive Committee
There have been a number of changes to the CSMF Executive, and the interim arrangements in place until the next AGM and general election are set out below.
Susan Allen and Kylie Grady have resigned as members of the Executive, due to recent changes in their employment situations.
The Executive Committee met recently, and in accordance with the Constitutional provisions for casual vacancies, Yvette Mueller was endorsed as interim Chair. Additionally, Susann Kodila-Jones, former Executive member, has been co-opted to the Executive to perform the role of interim Secretary. Please send all communications or emails for distribution to email@example.com.
Additionally, John Smith will be retiring from the role of Treasurer this year, and we are looking for a suitable replacement.
A further vacancy remains on the Executive committee. If you are interested in joining the Executive, please let us know. We would love to have you join us.
On behalf of the Executive, I thank Kylie for nominating and contributing to the CSMF.
I also thank our former Chair, Susan Allen, for her tireless work on improving the governance, oversight and operations of the CSMF and the CSMF Executive, and wish her well in her new role with the Victorian State Government.
